One of the “Fox Cities”, Appleton is a true Midwest gem. Situated on the Fox River, just outside the greater Green Bay area, you’ll find more than Packers fans and a love of cheese.
If Appleton, WI was once a hidden treasure, that’s no longer the case. The secret is out, as it was ranked #56 on Livability’s Top 100 Places to Live 2019 and the 2nd Most Kid-Friendly City in the Country 2018 by Smart Asset.
In the Greater Appleton area you’ll enjoy all that a big city offers, minus the headaches. It’s easy to get around, has a low cost of living and everything is at your fingertips, starting with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. This 2,100 seat theatre boasts the second largest stage in the state and offers popular works.
If shopping is your thing, look no further. Fox River Mall is the largest shopping mall in the state with 140 stores spread amongst 1.2 million square feet. Downtown Appleton is also lined with beautiful and eclectic boutiques and restaurants including the Downtown Farmers Market (open year-round) that you can access via the free downtown trolley.
The same trolley can drop you off at the Riverfront where there is no shortage of outdoor activities. Boat and kayak the river or stay dry on land and walk, bike or simply relax while dining at one of Appleton’s restaurants on the water.
If you love outdoor activities, you and 80,000 others will enjoy the many sounds coming from the Mile of Music Festival, an annual four day concert featuring 200 up and coming artists, and 900 sets in 70 venues. Beyond those four days, Appleton has concerts and festivals throughout the year.
And you’ll find history here too. It was Appleton that had the first successful electric streetcar company and the first residence in the world powered by hydroelectricity, Hearthstone House. Appleton was the hometown of Harry Houdini and, as such, you can spend an afternoon learning more about his career and life in Wisconsin at the History Museum at the Castle.
The Fox Cities are also known as “Paper Valley,” since the paper industry made its way there in the mid 1800’s due to the area’s “proximity to water power, transportation routes, and rich reserves of northern Wisconsin forests” (Wisconsin Historical Society.) The town of Kimberly, adjacent to Appleton and ranked the 11th Best School District in Wisconsin, was named after John A. Kimberly, one of the founders of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, which still has operations in the area today.
The best thing that Appleton offers is the opportunity to own your own AD&I affiliated practice and serve this phenomenal community. With a sign on bonus, relocation package, 100% ownership and a brand new practice with your own on-site lab, your opportunity awaits.
