Lindsey Lawver Moore,

DDS Lead Lab Tech

Like all of those new to Affordable, you'll arrive with more to learn. More to take in. More to experience. In time, you'll become that person with so much to give. From mentee to mentor. You'll pass on valuable learnings and experiences to others. It's the perfect circle. One of accomplishment and encouragement. Where everyone thrives. It's a mentorship cycle that never stops spinning. And here is one of those stories...

Decisions throughout your career path are seldom easy to make. For some people, though, the initial decision is crystal clear. Lindsey Lawver Moore is the perfect example. Upon graduating from high school, Moore immediately went into the dentistry field and has, not only grown within the industry, but has done so happily and with intention.

After several years as a dental assistant, Moore decided to shift her focus to the laboratory side of dentistry, as she said, “temporaries really interested me.” She discussed her interest with her practice’s lab tech, who recommended that she take her career to Affordable Dentures & Implants.

In 2010, the team at the ADI affiliated practice in Weeki Wachee, Florida welcomed Moore with open arms. “I loved being there...it was a great work family, work-life balance. And I just really loved the work I was doing. Marty Mahaney, the tech who trained me, was a wonderful mentor to me and still is to this day,” Moore said. Mahaney’s impact never left her.

Over the course of five years, Moore experienced tremendous growth within ADI, transitioning from a processor to a full laboratory technician. Upon the birth of her third child, Moore made the decision to stay home with her children, and open her own denture lab, a successful venture due to the skills she mastered during her tenure at ADI. “I never wanted to leave ADI...It was just a time in my life where I wanted to do something new,” she said.

Several years later, Moore’s husband was offered a job in Tennessee. Thus, the family made the move, with Moore continuing her work from afar for her Florida dentistry clients.

After the move, Moore’s husband was in an accident, leaving him unable to work. At that point, Moore knew her family needed stability more than ever. "It came to a point where a steady paycheck, health insurance...all the benefits of working for a corporate entity is exactly what my family needed," Moore says, thinking back.

Simultaneously, DDS Dentures & Implant Solutions, was opening a new practice near their Tennessee home. Moore jumped. "It was kind of on a whim. I was just browsing LinkedIn one day and came across DDS...I went in and took a bench test and I loved it” she continues, “It reminded me a lot of an ADI practice,” Moore remembers.

Only five months after Moore joined the DDS affiliated practice in Spring Hill, TN, DDS and ADI united. When Affordable Care, a DSO that provides complete business support to all ADI practices throughout the country, acquired DDS, the partnership solidified Affordable Care as the largest tooth replacement organization in the country. It was a natural fit due to the companies’ shared goal of expanding patient access to high-quality dental care and tooth replacement services. In many ways, Moore had returned to the ADI family.

For over two years, Moore has served as the lead lab tech, working hand in hand with the entire practice staff. “The two doctors I work with are phenomenal,” she says, “We have such a great flow and they’re great with letting me take the lead.” Simply put, Moore is able to do her job. To use her talents. Talents that she has mastered. Talents that she is wholeheartedly confident in.

While she focuses on her work, she is simultaneously focused on developing the talents of others. Specifically, her lab processor, Ashley Anderson, whom she sees immense promise in.

“I see a lot of me in her. She's got the drive….the will. There is so much room for growth here. I want her to have that...to do well. I want her to be successful in life...I had a great mentor and I want to be that for her,” Moore emphasizes.

Passing it on and paying it forward. It is what DDS and ADI have instilled as a key organizational trait, attributing to the success of so many employees, so many practices. It is what Mahaney did for Moore at ADI way back when. It is what Moore is doing for Anderson today. And it will carry on for countless others who make the decision to be here too.
